After the early arrival * in Delhi the transfer to the hotel follows where we can go directly into our rooms and get a few hours rest. Later in the day we enter Delhi, namely New Delhi, the district that was built largely during the British colonial period. We see the war memorial India Gate, the Mahatma Gandhi monument and the 72 m high minaret Qutab Minar, the oldest monument in the city. Delhi is overwhelming, a mishmash of smells, colors and sounds!

We travel to the market town of Mandawa and experience the rural life of India. In the 18th century well-to-do families built many colorful havelis, merchant houses with beautiful carvings and other decorations. Overnight in Mandawa. Travel distance approx. 280 km.

Pushkar, originated on the shores of the lake that arose when the god Brahma dropped a petal from his hand. It is a lively pilgrimage town with about 300 Hindu temples, one of which is dedicated to Brahma as the only temple in India. We walk through the city, see the Lord Brahma temple and walk along the holy lake, where many pilgrims come to bathe and pray for forgiveness and healing. It is very impressive to watch these Pooja ceremonies (offerings) on the ghats on the shore. These are special rituals where flowers, rice and colorful powders are offered as offerings. Overnight in Pushkar. Travel distance approx. 230 km.

5.Tag Jaipur

Boredom is excluded during the ride to Jaipur, the capital of the proud, colorful state of Rajasthan; we look our eyes out. Holy cows that cross over or walk in the middle of the road, packed camel carts, agricultural areas, loud honking fellow road users, colorfully decorated trucks, exciting overtaking maneuvers ... these are the usual scenes on and along the road in India! We reach the pink city of Jaipur. In the past it was mainly built with the local pink sandstone. Now it is the official city color. We stay here for two nights. Travel distance approx. 150 km.

Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is known as the 'pink city' because of the color in which the buildings in the old city are painted. Elephants and camels are part of the fascinating street scene here. The morning is dominated by the impressive Amber Fort, an amazing palace complex with interiors full of glittering and shiny panels. The Palace of Winds is too photogenic not to stop. And we see the city palace and the observatory Jantar Mantar. And a lot of pink!

On the way to Bharatpur we visit the small town of Abhaneri, with the Chand baori , the largest stairway in the world, built by King Chandra in the 8th and 9th centuries. In the past, this well did not only serve as a water supply, but it also had a social function. People gathered here for a ritual bath before they went to the temple and sought refreshment and companionship. We also see the Harshat Mata temple here. We continue to Bharatpur, where we move into the hotel. In the afternoon our attention goes to the Keoladeo National Park, one of the most beautiful bird sanctuaries in the world, where many migratory birds overwinter from China, Tibet, India, Siberia and Afghanistan. Take your binoculars with you! Travel distance approx. 205 km.

On to Agra, with a break on the way at Fort Fatehpur Sikri, the old Mogul capital that was abandoned after 40 years of occupation due to lack of water. In Agra, located on the Yamuna River, we see the impressive Red Fort with its high walls of red sandstone. We then make an unforgettable visit at sunset to the gracious Taj Mahal, one of the modern world wonders and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The monument was built between 1631 and 1653 by Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan in honor of his late wife Mumtaz. Rarely is love so subtly interpreted in matter and the beauty makes many people dumb. The building is the symbol of India and of love. Overnight in Agra. Travel distance approx. 60 km.

Note: since the Taj Mahal is closed on Friday, the visit can also take place on day 9 at sunrise.

9.Tag Orchha

Crossing through rural India we continue to Orchha. We make a city tour through this cozy place, rich in fairytale palaces and temples. Overnight in Orchha. Travel distance approx. 255 km.

10.und 11.Tag Kajhuraho

The living artwork Khajuraho is our next stop. Travel distance approx. 185 km. We stay here for two nights. The rest of the day is at leisure. Optionally you can visit the Panna National Park this afternoon. In search of wolves, leopards, wild boars, monkeys, birds, reptiles and who knows tigers. Costs about € 50 per person, to be booked and paid locally (note: this park is closed during the rainy season months, July to September, subject to changes).

12.Tag Allahabad

Allahabad, the city at the confluence of the holy rivers Ganges and Yamuna, is surprisingly relaxed. Pleasant! We spend the night in Allahabad. Travel distance approx. 310 km.

13.Tag Allahabad- Varanasi


Allahabad shows us the family house Anand Bhawan, where Indira Gandhi was born. A beautiful boat trip on the legendary and holy Ganges awaits us from Chunar. Beautiful landscapes, temples, water birds and islands pass us by. In Varanasi, also known as the 'Eternal City', we attend the arch-worship on the banks of the Ganges. Fire, lights on the water, singing and bathing pilgrims ... absolutely impressive. We will spend the next two nights in Varanasi. Travel distance approx. 135 km. 

14.Tag Varanasi

In the colorful, Hindu pilgrimage site on the Ganges, pilgrims from all corners of the world come to bathe at one of the many 'ghats', gathering places for living, dying and dead Hindus. Anyone who dies on the banks of the Ganges will receive 'moksha' (redemption). In the morning we make a nice boat trip on the Ganges, where we observe the fascinating morning rituals, including those at the burning sites. Later in the morning we explore the city further, with a visit to the Bharat Mata Temple and a traditional silk / brocade weaving mill. The Benares brocade silk has been world famous for centuries. The afternoon is at leisure.

15.Tag Varanasi-Nachtzug nach Haridwar

Am 4.11 geht es nach Dehradun,wo dich um 18.00 Uhr ein Flugzeug nach Delhi bringt (ca. 50 min.,große Maschine)

Danach hast du Zeit,Dich noch einmal im Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi zu entspannen (Massagen möglich,auch Ruheliegen im Gate)

Nachts fliegst du wieder back to Germany (Lufthansa landet z.B. um ca.6.00 Uhr in München)
